Cosplay
Due to the interest we have had for the Cosplay Contest, you will no longer need the Cosplay Form to enter, everyone can try and enter but only the top 20 with the most Cosplay Token will be accepted. When you enter chibicon you will recieve a number of cosplay tokens depending on the following;
Normal Ticket - 1 Cosplay Token.
Fast Track Ticket - 2 Cosplay Tokens.
Dressed in Cosplay - +1 Token.
This means that if you have a fast-track ticket and are in cosplay yourself you will have 3 tokens, whereas someone with a normal ticket and wearing normal clothes will only have one token.
Rules of Cosplay.
To get into the final 20 places and have a chance of winning, you will need to be in the top 20 people with the most Cosplay Tokens. To this end there will be a table at Chibicon devoted to the Cosplay Competition, where you can hand in your tokens to have them registered to your name. So if you're looking to enter the competition it's important that you look out for this table!
What do we get judged on?
The cosplay contest will be judged on 4 things.
1. (1-5 point) How well the characters costume looks compared to the anime and or manga. We will be taking into account if the costume was hand made or purchased from a shop.
2. (1-5 points) How well you look like the character. Man-Fay will not get many points for example.
3. (1-5 points) How well you act like the character. Iif you are playing a shy character and come on the stage jumping around and being loud you will not get many points.
4. Unique! (1-100) this is going to be the breaker. The judges will be there all day and will be looking at all the cosplays that are there. If they see 15 Naruto's then all of them are going to get very low points, but if they see a unique cosplay they will get lots of points.
So you must think about your costume! Laziness will not win you the prize in this convention. ^_^
Can I use Props?
Yes you can, we are letting you use LARP safe weapons, prop guns can be used but they must be completely hidden in a bag then leaving or entering the convention. If any weapon is seen outside the convention the police will arrest you, as they will be present.
We will have people on the door at all times checking all weapons as they come in, if any of these people deem that a weapon is not LARP safe they will take it from you and return it when you leave. If you do not give them a weapon they deem unsafe you will be removed from the convention and will not get a refund - the same applies if a weapon is found that has not been through the weapons check at the door. You have been warned.
If you have any questions about Larp weapons please e-mail me.
